The Disney Dream is nearly ready. Disney Cruise Lines latest ship will travel on it’s first official maiden cruise on January 26th, but it’s already at it’s home dock of Port Canaveral and she looks amazing and Huge!!
Disney Dream is 40% larger than it’s two other sister ships the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder. The Dream is also going to be the worlds first cruise ship to have it’s own water coaster called the “AquaDuck”.
Some of my favourite features of the Dream include:
The 9 hole mini golf course
Special complimentary Wave Phones which help you keep in touch with your family all around the ship
Magical portholes which mean that inside cabins will no longer miss out on a picturesque view, as the live sea image from the deck will be streamed to the porthole inside your room. You may also get a surprise as some Disney characters pop up from time to time too
Practically a whole deck of amazing children’s club, with different club’s catering for everyone from 3 months up to 17 years old. Andy’s Room in the Oceaneer club which is for children from 3 to 10 years looks particularly stunning.
Can’t wait until the maiden voyage is out of the way and we start getting some trip reports and videos from the lucky passengers, You know they’ll be all over the Internet gloating….well I would be
Virgin say that they’ve taken absolutely everything off that they can, well with prices starting as low as £399 it’s hard to argue with them.
There are deals available for almost everywhere in Orlando, Virgin Holidays have got all the favourites like I Drive, Lake Buena Vista, Kissimmee and even Walt Disney Resort itself covered.
Also don’t forget that not only are the sale prices brilliant, you also still get all those other special benefits of booking a Virgin Holiday like Rockstar Service, and being able to book the V-room at Gatwick and from the summer Manchester.
Hurry and don’t miss out, as the sale ends January 31st
As of tomorrow the Block Party Bash at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be no more. The last performance of the current parade will be today (January 1st), and you’ll need to wait until Jan 16th to see the new show.
The new show seems to be even more Pixar orientated that the Block Party Bash, as it will feature 4 new Pixar characters joining in the fun. Remy and Emile from Ratatouille and Carl and Russell from the movie UP.
No news yet on whether the parade will be a show and stop affair like the Block Party Bash, but most educated guesses would suggest it will go back to the more traditional parade show, as the stop start of the Block Party hasn’t been a hit with everyone.
I for one will be sad to see the Block Party Bash go as I really enjoyed the songs and the dancing, but am always happy to see a new show.
With the new year now upon us, many of us will start thinking about booking the new years family holiday. There’s really no better time to book a Walt Disney World holiday, as right now the magical offers are coming thick and fast.

Huzzah! From Friday (02/07) Captain EO is going to back in it’s rightful home of the Imagination Pavilion at Epcot.
Captain EO opened in Epcot in 1986, and the film is so eighties it hurts.
Having just watched it again on YouTube I really can’t wait to go back and see it now.
What’s not to love, we have the Michael Jackson we all remember, a great eighties bit of robot dancing and ensemble body popping, and it ends with a rendition of Another Part of Me.
I remember seeing it when I was about 9 or 10 and thinking it was great, all the lazers and smoke and the 3D were really new back then. It will probably look a bit tame and very retro it’s shown now, but for pure nostalgia value alone you can’t beat it.
Well the wait is finally over and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is now officially open.
Now I know i’m a bit late in adding this news, but I’m not the biggest Harry Potter fan in the world.
It’s ok i’ve seen most of movies and there’re all right, but I wasn’t counting down the days until the place opened like some people. Well more than some people if you’ve seen the photos of the crowds waiting on opening day, it was a madhouse.
Anyway the more I read about it, the more excited about visiting I get. I think it’s just the opportunity to try new rides and also sample the fabulous sounding butterscotch deliciousness that is Butterbeer.
When we went in January we managed to catch a glimpse of the snow topped buildings of Hogsmeade, which looked amazing even though the Florida sun was blazing onto them
Other than the obvious Forbidden Journey, i’m really looking forward to trying the Flight of the Hippogriff. Any new rides that my little ones can go on are welcome.
Book with Virgin Holidays by the 6th of July and you can get two weeks of free entry into Universal Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios, plenty of time to explore the sights and sounds of Hogsmeade and for free. Brilliant! And by booking through Virgin Holidays you also get early entry into the park and complimentary breakfast at the Three Broomsticks restaurant inside the park.
